Developer and publisher Sharkmob has announced that its vampiric battle royale game Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt will be shutting down its servers next year.
In a blog post, the studio confirms that the game's service will come to an end on April 28th. Much like another upcoming shutdown victim, EA's The Sims Mobile, this one's online-only, so you won't be able to play it at all once the servers go down.
You can no longer buy tokens within Bloodhunt as of today, but the game is still fully playable until its shutdown date on both PC and PS5. The in-game store will also remain open, allowing you to spend whatever tokens you may have accumulated.
Once Bloodhunt shuts down, naturally, you won't be able to spend your tokens anymore, and what's more, your account and game data will be deleted "in accordance with GDPR and/or equivalent", so make sure you've done everything you need to before shutdown.
As for why Bloodhunt is shutting down, Sharkmob says that despite its "amazing community", the game's current player count has "reached a level where keeping the servers running is no longer sustainable".
