After a lot of speculation about a shadow drop, EA decided to give us some notice about the Battlefield 6 battle royale mode, with a penchant for deadlines that would make a struggling college student on submission day proud.
The new battle royale mode is called REDSEC, a portmanteau for Redacted Sector, and it will launch tomorrow at 08:00 Pacific Time, or 15:00 UTC. To celebrate the occasion, Battlefield is also putting out a new gameplay trailer, which goes live concurrently with the game.
In keeping with PUBG and Fortnite tradition, REDSEC will have you airdrop into the inferno, except it will use the more elegant Chinook helicopter over the more colorful vehicles of yore.
Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Map
The initial battle royale map of Battlefield 6 will have you duke it out amid California's greatest collection of eccentric actors and annoying movie execs. Once you're on the ground, you get to fight around the hills and shoot your way through mansions.
