Silent Hill isn't the only project that legendary video game mastermind Hideo Kojima nearly had a hand in, as it appears that Kojima also nearly a hand in a game centered around The Matrix. Yes, you read that right.
While we'll likely never see the completed version of PT, it is being used to help students learn English, so at least some good has come out of the short tease.
In a new story from Time Extension, The Wachowskis once approached Kojima to put his spin on The Matrix, and Kojima even met with them about the possibility of it all. Unfortunately, Konami had the final say, and, well, seeing as we don't have a "The Matrix by Hideo Kojima" game, the answer was "No."
"The Wachowskis were big fans of Kojima," Christopher Bergstresser, a former vice president of licensing at Konami Digital Entertainment, said. "So Kazumi Kitaue, Kojima, Aki Saito (who still works with Kojima), and I were at the Konami HQ, and we got a call from the Wachowskis, who wanted to come in and meet with Kojima. So they did!"
Konami, however, Kojima focused solely on Metal Gear Solid.
