Between leaked playtest details and a rumored shadow drop, we've known Battlefield 6 would eventually be getting a battle royale mode for a while. Now we have an official name and release date, and while it wasn't quite a shadow drop, you'll be able to play Battlefield's BR before the end of the day.
EA confirmed on Monday that Battlefield 6's BR will be called Redsec (short for Redacted Sector), and that it will be released on October 28, 2025, which is today. Don't rush off right away to go and play; it isn't available yet. Well, unless you're reading this after 11 am EST, in which case it is available to play right now.
Still finish reading this before you go, though.
Battlefield's take on Warzone is called Redsec, and even though, at the time of typing this, it's only a few hours away, that's pretty much all we know about it, at least officially. Redsec is going to drop with only the select few people who were afforded the chance to take part in its playtests having any idea of how it will work and how it feels to play. The rest of us will be hopping...
