Amazon Will Continue To Help With The Next Tomb Raider Game After Recent Mass Layoffs

Despite recently being hit with massive layoffs, Amazon Games has confirmed that it will continue to work with Crystal Dynamics on the next Tomb Raider.

Although Amazon Games saw some decent success with New World and Lost Ark, it's fair to say that it's struggled to find its footing since then. Even with that in mind, it still came as a shock when it was announced yesterday that the studio was being hit with

"significant" layoffs.

We already know that the Amazon Games layoffs have resulted in the end of New World's development, but the one game that most of us have been worried about the most is the next Tomb Raider, which Amazon Games previously confirmed it was publishing. Worry not, though, as it seems that Tomb Raider is unaffected by the layoffs.

As pointed out by VideoGamer and originally reported by Variety, Amazon Games boss Steve Boom confirmed to staff in an internal memo that, despite the mass layoffs, the studio is "continuing to work" with Crystal Dynamics on the next Tomb Raider. Considering how rough things have been for Crystal Dynamics lately, I'm very glad that it's finally catching a break here.
