Snapchat and Xbox have announced that they've teamed up to create a rather unique app lens to celebrate the launch of action RPG The Outer Worlds 2, and if you're a stargazer, you'll love this one.
As outlined in a Snapchat press release, the new lens allows you to scan the moon "from anywhere, in any weather and lighting condition", in order to transform it into the game's rather terrifying Moon Man mascot (in your phone, of course; it won't actually transform in real life).
The collaboration has also yielded a "custom, one-of-a-kind telescope" that's powered by the same AR tech that makes the Moon Man Snapchat lens possible; all you need to do is peer into it and watch the moon come to life.
If you want to transform yourself into Moon Man for some reason, then you can flip your phone to its front-facing camera and watch as the new Snapchat lens does its dastardly work to that very end, too. The lens is available now on Snapchat, and naturally, it won't cost you anything to use.
