New Capcom Earnings Report Is Very Bad News For Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds had a very strong start, but it’s been all downhill for it since then.

The game sold so well on launch that it shattered sales records both for Capcom and for platforms as a whole, but, as issues with its performance on PC in particular started to surface, those sales dropped off, along with its player count.

Now, Capcom has released their earnings report for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025 (via Push Square), and it shows that things have gotten quite dire for the record-setting title.

It has barely sold any copies since that first week, and it’s gotten to the point where it’s being outsold by earlier games in its own franchise.

At The Bottom Of The Ranking

According to the financial report, in the first half of the fiscal year (from the start of April to the end of September), Monster Hunter Wilds sold some 637,000 copies, putting it in tenth place in their sales ranking.

To date, the game has sold 10.7 million copies, over 8 million of which came from its first three days alone.
