16,000 New World Players Are Begging Amazon Not To Abandon The MMO

New World's future hangs in the balance. Following mass layoffs at Amazon, it was confirmed that ongoing development for the MMO would cease, and it was heavily suggested that the servers would shut down in 2027.

Now, fans are pushing back. An emotional plea has been written up and put forward as a petition, imploring Amazon to save the developers who worked on New World and keep the MMO going. It comes after a recent update reinvigorated interest in the game, giving fans hope right before the layoffs took it away again.

The change.org petition already has over 16,000 verified signatures, and more are coming in by the minute.

"The personal joy and incredible connections I have experienced through New World are beyond compare," reads the petition, written up by Christopher Payne. "This MMO game has been a beacon of entertainment, camaraderie, and competition among players all over the world.

"The latest patch has revitalised the community, demonstrating the immense value of ongoing development and updates.
