Deathloop is no longer coming out in May.
Deathloop has been delayed once again. On Twitter, developer Arkane Studios announced that Deathloop will now release on September 14th. This is the second time that the game has been delayed. According to Arkane, the delay was to ensure the health and safety of the development team.
"We've made the decision to delay the launch of Deathloop to September 14th, 2021," Arkane stated in their tweet.
"We're committed to quality and preserving our team's ambitions for Deathloop while ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Arkane. We'll be using this extra time to accomplish our goal: create a fun, stylish, and mind-bending player experience.
"We apologize for the extended wait and thank you all for your passion and excitement. It is the fuel that powers our creativity and our hard work. We can't wait to show you more Deathloop soon!"
In Deathloop, gamers play as Cole, an assassin trapped in a mysterious timeloop on the island of Blackreef. Colt's only chance to escape the timeloop is to assassinate eight key targets before the day ends. Every time players die, they will start the day over. This gives them the opportunity to learn from their past attempts, as they gather intel and new weapons and abilities. Every loop will let them discover new secrets, and new ways to approach their mission. However, there is one big obstacle in their way: a rival assassin named Julianna. Julianna can be controlled by other players, as they invade other gamer's campaigns in order to keep them from succeeding. Multiplayer is completely optional, as gamers can choose to have an AI control Julianna as they try to escape the timeloop.
Deathloop will release in September for PC and PlayStation 5. The game will be a timed exclusive.
