It’s no secret that the developers behind ARC Raiders have been working pretty hard to increase players’ hype and excitement around their upcoming extraction shooter – and, well, it looks like their efforts paid off.
But before diving into its impressive current numbers, let’s rewind a bit for some context. Just a few weeks ago, we got to test the game before the official release in its Server Slam playtest, which ran from October 17th to 19th, giving an entire weekend for everyone to try it out for free.
It was quite a hit, peaking with over 189,000 concurrent users on Steam alone, according to data from SteamDB. This was enough to put Embark Studios’ upcoming extraction shooter on everyone’s radar and in 4th place on Steam's most played list when it was live, surpassing multiplayer old behemoths like PUBG and Rust.
Now, after around a year of anticipation, the final version of ARC Raiders is finally here, and it seems that the hype hasn’t faded away.
