Earlier this month, Saints Row creator Chris Stockman gave an interview about the game's legacy after the reboot failed to put the franchise back on course, leaving the series on ice for the foreseeable future as developer Volition shut its doors.
In that interview, Stockman called on Embracer to reach out to him personally, promising that he could get the band back together and "turn the franchise around" with a return-to-roots '70s prequel, tapping into the heart and soul of the original two games.
Well, as it turns out, Embracer did reach out. Stockman claimed on Reddit two days ago that he had been asked to create a pitch for a Saints Row prequel. "I can't say anything more than that, but my dreams for this game just became a little more than just dreams," he said.
If you're wondering about this Reddit user's credibility, if they aren't Stockman, that would mean they've been impersonating him for nine years, answering AMAs and even sharing in-development footage.
Of course, this is just a pitch, and Embracer could very well reject Stockman's idea, but it's a promising first step. And his ideas for a new game have already...
