You might assume that, despite how many Pokemon games there have been, there are still quite a few that you can obtain in every single mainline game. Well, you'd assume wrong. In fact, with the arrival of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, there is technically just one Pokemon left that can be found without hacks or trickery in every game since Red & Blue, and that Pokemon is Magikarp.
Magikarp being the last Pokemon standing when it comes to series appearances was highlighted by JPRPT98 on Twitter, who also noted that Gyarados technically fits the bill too, since that's the Pokemon Magikarp evolves into. Pokemon fans have thrown out scenarios trying to disprove Magikarp's superiority ever since, but with every failed attempt, Magikarp's claim as the sole survivor only becomes stronger.
If you didn't know about Magikarp's inclusion in every single mainline Pokemon game, when asked which one Pokemon has appeared in every entry, you might have played the odds and gone for Pikachu. However, as was the case for a lot of Kanto Pokemon that had appeared in every game up until that point, TPC's most famous creation was missing from Black & White.
