If You Want More Astarion, This Baldur's Gate 3 Custom Campaign Traps You In His Nightmares

Earlier this year, modder lizardphunk released the first part of their ambitious Baldur's Gate 3 custom campaign, ADOS ReVamped, adapting the award-nominated A Dream of Silence text adventure, in which Tav enters Astarion's mind to free him from the clutches of his own worst nightmares.

I won't give too much away about the story, but there's a reason this text adventure is renowned among fans. It's a heartbreaking insight into The Pale Elf's beginnings, his own painful memories used against him by a Bastella to once again trap him in that decrepit dungeon with nothing but rats for company.

lizardphunk has taken the story penned by Abigail Corfman, which effortlessly captures the sharp wit of Larian's own writing, and brought it to life within Baldur's Gate 3 itself, adapting Astarion's nightmares with haunting dream-like visuals, while also using the game's dialogue mechanics in place of the text-adventure format.

There is no voice acting, as lizardphunk is vehemently opposed to using AI to emulate the brilliantly performed companion dialogue.

Act 1 was released in August and is available to download here; and is well worth trying out for yourself. But it won't be long before the ReVamped story...
