Many fans of the long-running Football Manager franchise were hit with disappointment earlier this year, when the upcoming Football Manager 25 was suddenly cancelled after multiple delays and reports of internal development struggles.
At the time, the developer Sports Interactive explained that the game was “nowhere near the standards players deserve”, so they decided to end the project.
However, the announcement also came with the promise that the studio would shift its main focus toward the next entry in the franchise, and that Football Manager 26 would finally deliver everything we had been waiting for.
As it turns out, that promise didn’t quite play out as expected.
Is This Football Manager’s Toughest Season Yet?
Football Manager 26 has just launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and mobile devices (for now, only via Apple Arcade and Netflix Games). And it seems that what was supposed to make up for two full years of hype and anticipation has, unfortunately, turned into a launch to forget.
It’s been less than 24 hours since the game became officially available, and it has already earned the 7th spot on Steam 250’s ranking of the lowest-rated titles on the platform....
