Pokemon Legends: Z-A Just Received Its First Update, And Your Shiny Hunting Methods Are Safe

I vividly remember going for a living shiny Dex in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. There was a hard and fast method that, with enough focus and the right Mass Outbreaks, you could target a specific Pokemon with ease. I had about 65-70 percent of my shiny Dex complete, only for the game to receive a patch, making the targeting a lot harder. I gave up.

While Legends: Z-A doesn't let you target specific Pokemon as Legends: Arceus did, there are some pretty tried and true methods for catching shinies. Once you get the shiny charm, with the Wild Zone 3 method (and a couple of nifty duplication glitches), hunting is a doddle.

You don't actually need to complete every research task to unlock the shiny charm.

Given the track record with Legends: Arceus, and some of the shiny hunting methods being a little unconventional, there are some expectations that Game Freak is going to patch them out. But there is some good news, at least for now.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A has just received its first update, v1.0.2, and it hasn't yet affected shiny hunting.
