We May Not Get Outer Worlds 3, But We Could Be Getting An Avowed Sequel

Obsidian knows that we all want a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas, but also mentioned that it's not going to be moving away from its original IP anytime soon. With two entries in Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, it looks like the studio is firing on all cylinders. Both titles got a decent reception, but neither really stood out.

If we were to compare, the studio's space RPG seems to have performed better than its fantasy RPG. It's not far-fetched to think that Obsidian could be looking to make a third installment on an even larger scale, but it seems that might not be the case. Former New Vegas dev, Chris Avellone has suggested that there are no plans for The Outer Worlds 3, but there is something brewing on an Avowed sequel.

"Apparently, aside from DLC plans for Outer Worlds 2, it seems like Obsidian is making no plans for Outer Worlds 3 (but they are doing Avowed 2)," tweeted Avellone, without any explanation or follow up. Of course, given his time and projects with Obsidian, he would most likely know what the studio is up to.

Maybe Obsidian will follow what it did with The Outer...
