Take-Two Promises BioShock 4 Is Still Coming

BioShock 4 was announced way back in 2019, and the very little we've heard about the project is far from reassuring. Earlier this year, it failed an internal review, sparking layoffs at Cloud Chamber and prompting publisher 2K to move creative director Kelley Gilmore off the project, casting doubts on this long-awaited sequel.

Rod Fergusson took over the BioShock series following Gilmore's departure.

However, speaking at a financial results conference, Take-Two Interactive stressed that BioShock 4 is still on track, going as far as to say that it will "take the franchise to the next level".

"BioShock is a very important franchise for us," Take-Two president Karl Slatoff said at the Q&A (via GamesRadar+). "It's one of our biggest franchises, and we're very excited about the release of the next BioShock."

Slatoff claimed that laying off over 80 people at Cloud Chamber, while also shaking up the leadership at the studio, has put the game back on track.

"We've made some changes in the organisation," he continued. "We're shifting some things around, but right now, we feel that the game is on a great track for us to deliver something that's going to exceed customer expectations....
