Developer Skydance Games and publisher Plaion have announced that their upcoming action-adventure game Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed beyond early 2026, and no new release date or window has been revealed.
In a post on social media, Skydance says that it's decided to delay Marvel 1943 in order to "fully realize [its] vision" for the game, and to ensure it "meets the level of quality that [Skydance's] team, players, and fans expect".
Marvel 1943 is the second major 2026 release to be delayed in the last day or two; just yesterday, Rockstar delayed the industry-straddling Grand Theft Auto 6 to November next year (for much the same reason as Skydance, it seems).
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was first revealed back in March last year, at which point it was also given a 2025 release window (which was, admittedly, rather broad). In July 2024, Embracer-owned publisher Plaion signed on to publish the game.
However, back in May, Skydance announced that Marvel 1943 had been delayed to some time early next year, so this is the second time the game has been pushed back. Let's hope this doesn't indicate trouble at Castle Skydance.
Despite being...
