Moths are pretty nasty. They're ugly, get in the way, and... I don't know. I just don't like them, to be honest. But clearly, the folks over at Obsidian have bigger hearts than I do, because they only went and put one in the bloody credits for The Outer Worlds 2.
Yeah, it's real. If you check the credits for The Outer Worlds 2, you will see that the special thanks section includes shout-outs to the devs' loved ones... and a moth called Wolverine. And of course, there is a story behind that.
This story comes courtesy of Obsidian's social media manager, Cindy Tran. Or John Obsidian, I should say. Sorry.
"Fun fact that a moth chilled with us after watching X-Men at a bar during PAX West," Tran says. "I named it John “Wolverine” Moth and it’s in the credits of The Outer Worlds 2. Special thank you to Art Director Daniel Alpert for the special thanks idea."
I checked and, yeah, sure enough, there he is. John Moth ("Wolverine") is immortalised for all to see. I will try to remember this next time my instinct is to kill one of Wolverine's brethren. I'm sorry, I just...
