The identity of the mysterious King Dedede lookalike in Kirby Air Riders has bothered fans since the game's first Direct, but we finally know who they are.
Before Kirby Air Riders released, one of the most notable things about it was that director Masahiro Sakurai went extremely in-depth on it in two separate Nintendo Directs. Those Directs told us pretty much everything we needed to know about Air Riders except for one thing - the identity of the shadowy racer that somehow looked like King Dedede.
Kirby Air Riders is weird, wild, and occasionally frustrating, but a total blast if you give into its mayhem.
Despite showing off so much of Kirby Air Riders, Sakurai remained quiet about who that character was. Well, now that Air Riders is out for all of us to play, I can confirm that their identity is revealed in the game's story mode, Road Trip, and it makes about as much sense as you'd expect it to.
