Tencent And Ubisoft Complete Deal For Far Cry And Other Major Works

Earlier this year, the news broke that Tencent is investing $1.25 billion for a stake in the new Ubisoft studio, Vantage Studios.

The team, which got off to a rocky start when Assassin's Creed boss Marc-Alexis Côté left Ubisoft to "pursue a new path elsewhere," is led by Charlie Guillemot and Cristophe Derennes.

They will be focusing on three key Ubisoft franchises:

Today marks the completion of Tencent's investment, making the deal officially official. Vantage Studio has been fully operational since October 1st, 2025.

"Tencent is delighted to be building on our strong relationship with Ubisoft through this investment in the launch of Vantage Studios," said Martin Lau, President of Tencent. "With its capable team and world-class creative vision, we look forward to Vantage Studios accelerating the growth of Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six as evergreen platforms providing entertainment and inspiration to generations of players."
