Geralt's Actor Isn't Worried About Ciri's Recasting In The Witcher 4

The Witcher 4 already feels like a role-playing game that's going to shake up the genre. We're still at least a couple of years away from the release of CD Projekt Red's next foray into the Continent, but we already know the series will focus on the fan favourite Ciri for the foreseeable future.

With her step-up to the protagonist role—along with the character being a few years older—CDPR decided to recast the character. Ciri's original actor, Jo Wyatt, was replaced by Ciara Berkeley, who impressed the studio with "her enthusiasm and vocal acting skills." The Witcher 4 is Berkeley's first major video game role.

Doug Cockle, the voice of our gruff protagonist Geralt of Rivia, recently gave an interview to GamesRadar+ during the Golden Joystick Awards where he spoke about Berkeley stepping into the role.

"I only spoke with her briefly, just today. We exchanged some DMs a couple of weeks ago just to say hi," Cockle explains. "She's lovely, and I think she's going to do a great job.
