Last year, Naughty Dog effectively shocked the gaming world at The Game Awards when it revealed Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a brand-new space-centric IP that has nothing to do with Uncharted or The Last of Us. It's got a big-budget cast, but so far no word on a release date, even if fans think there are several hints in its announcement trailer.
Unfortunately, it looks like things might stay that way, as reliable insider Jason Schreier took to Reddit to let gamers know that, despite some previous claims from other insiders, Intergalactic will not be releasing in 2026.
"Can assure you that Intergalactic is not coming out in 2026," Schreier succinctly wrote.
His word comes after Last Stand Media's Colin Moriarty said on a recent podcast that he wouldn't be "surprised" if The Heretic Prophet released next year, as the game was essentially "content complete."
Of course, it's worth noting that even if a game is "content complete," it still could be held back for myriad reasons, and it's not like Sony doesn't have two heavy-hitters releasing next year (Saros and Wolverine), or that 2026 as a whole isn't jam-packed (Grand Theft Auto 6).
