Earlier this year, an artist at Ghost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch called Drew Harrison was fired following a comment she made in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination. In a post on BlueSky after the shooting took place, Harrison wrote "I hope the shooter’s name is Mario so that Luigi knows his bro got his back", in reference to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.Shortly after this joke, Harrison later posted,"If standing up against fascism is what cost me my dream job I held for ten years, I would do it again 100x stronger," suggesting that Sony and Sucker Punch had fired her for her comments. Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming later confirmed this in a recent interview, explaining that the studio was "aligned" that "making light of someone's murder" was a deal-breaker.

Now, over two months after losing what she described as her "dream job", Harrison has spoken out about her firing in a new interview with Aftermath (thanks Kotaku). During the conversation, Harrison explains that she believes the campaign of harassment that targeted her and the rest of Sucker Punch was the reason behind her firing, not the joke itself.
