Cyberpunk 2 Won't Be Here For At Least Three More Years, And That's Probably Being Very Optimistic

We've known that a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel has been in the works at CD Projekt Red for a while. Now we know a tiny bit more regarding when we can expect it to be here. Settle in, chooms, it's going to be a while.

CDPR published its Q3 2025 financial report this week, revealing that, despite its early, very serious teething problems, Cyberpunk is on its way to being an even bigger hit for the studio than The Witcher 3. The report also included notes on the progression of Cyberpunk 2 development, confirming that it will not be released before 2028.

Any time from 2028 until the end of time is quite the release window, but it's narrower than what we knew about the Night City follow-up this time 24 hours ago. It still probably won't come as much of a surprise to those awaiting more Cyberpunk. CDPR presumably has The Witcher 4 to finish first, and the last we heard about that was the suggestion that it won't be here until 2027.

That would mean a new Witcher game and a new Cyberpunk in back-to-back years, and that's not happening. It does sound like development of Cyberpunk...
