We're creeping up on the second anniversary of the announcement of Light No Fire with no indication whatsoever of when we'll actually get to play it. Sounds like that won't be changing anytime soon, as most of the team at Hello Games continues to focus on No Man's Sky.
That comes from Hello Games boss Sean Murray himself. Murray took to Steam earlier this week to try and rally No Man's Sky fans to vote for the game in the Labor of Love category in 2025's Steam Awards. Most of Murray's spiel was dedicated to demonstrating just how much work had gone into No Man's Sky this year, but there was a short paragraph towards the end dedicated to No Man's Sky.
"In the background, another tiny team at Hello is continuing at pace on our next Labor of Love, Light No Fire," Murray confirmed. "It suffices to say that I am really pleased with the progress we are making and I think it’s going to be something really special," he adds, leaving it at that and pointing to the Light No Fire Steam page for anyone who wants to wishlist the game.
Not the update those of us...
