There's A Metroid Prime 4 Amiibo That Unlocks Something Others Won't See Unless They 100 Percent The Game

After an eight-year wait, we're now less than a week away from the release of Metroid Prime 4. That has prompted Nintendo to reveal what the game's accompanying amiibo will do, and there's one in particular you'll want to pick up if you want to better understand Prime 4's story.

There are three Metroid Prime 4 amiibo, two of which are already available, and a third that will be released alongside the game on December 4. It's the unreleased one, modeled after the new game's enemy Sylux, which has the most interesting function, as it does something in-game that players without the figure won't see unless they 100 percent the game.

Even if you do have the Sylux amiibo, you won't be able to make the most of it until you finish the game's story. Once that main questline is complete, tapping the figure to your Joy-Con or controller will unlock pieced-together cinematics that better explain the game's story. It won't be footage you haven't already seen, but without the amiibo, the footage can only be viewed separately as individual fragments.
