Dead Rising fans, rise up! If new reporting from MP1st is to be believed, it looks like the cult classic zombie action-adventure series is primed to receive its first true new entry since 2016 sometime soon. What's more, it'll put beloved protagonist Frank West back in the spotlight.
While there's no direct timeline for when the game could be revealed and subsequently released, the Dead Rising revival, currently codenamed "Rec," has been in development since 2023, per the report. With Frank being the protagonist, it would seem that the game is a direct sequel to the original Dead Rising, which was released in 2006.
Dead Rising 4 was an absolute mess, but I will give the game credit for having an all-time pre-order bonus in the form of a zombie hand Christmas ornament. I still have mine!
If that wasn't enough reason to celebrate, then the game will reportedly take place in Hollywood, a worthy place for a photographer like Frank.
