Returning to her childhood home is a major step in Atsu's quest for revenge in Ghost of Yotei. It's such a pivotal moment that Sucker Punch even created a whole mechanic that flashes back to the past with the press of a button. Going back home is also the first step in opening up the open world to you. However, in new game plus, it is possible to make some progress in your quest without actually going home.
Instead of riding to Atsu's childhood home as the game suggests, you could simply head on over to any other spot in Ishikari Plain. In fact, the game lets you go as far as reuniting with her brother Jubei, who was thought dead. In doing so, you'll also unlock some rare and even funny dialogues when you finally do go home.
According to King4Queens247's Reddit post, they started off their new game plus run by heading straight to Ishikari Plain instead of heading to Atsu's home. In fact they even went ahead and met Jubei before interacting with the memory feature. This resulted in some new dialogues when they headed back home.
