IO Interactive has confirmed that it still intends to create more Hitman games in the future, so don't worry: the World of Assassination trilogy won't be the franchise's last hurrah.
Speaking to Variety, CEO Hakan Abrak put things in no uncertain terms, telling the publication that "of course there will be more Hitman". It's hard to imagine him being clearer than that; there's no reading between the lines here.
He says that for now, however, his studio needs to "get to the other side of this year" and reveal more about co-op play for World of Assassination in 2026. After that, though - and, of course, the release of 007 First Light - the studio "will...be taking about the next Hitman".
For now, if you want more Hitman action, you'll have to contend yourself with today's Eminem mission, which tasks you with taking down Eminem's alter ego Slim Shady "in the twisted world he created" in order to "silence him once and for all".
