Over the past few days, "Gaming Twitter" has gone crazy because of a recent post from Geoff Keighley, the host of The Game Awards, that features a statue in a desert with some rather interesting creatures not too dissimilar from what we've seen from The Elder Scrolls, God of War and Diablo.
Well, it looks like you scratch God of War off the list of potential outcomes, as Cory Barlog, the director behind the two most recent God of War titles, crashed a recent Twitch stream from Luke Stephens to let everyone know:
"No, it's not GOW."
Now, I don't mean to be a conspiracy theorist, but Barlog only said it's not GOW. He didn't specify which GOW he's referring to. Because as of 2025, Gears of War, the other GOW in gaming, is now on PlayStation.
A few years ago, we'd have totally taken what he's saying at face value since Gears was still on Xbox, and the idea that it would be on anything but Microsoft's flagship console would've been considered preposterous.
With the abandonment of Future Class, The Game Awards makes its intentions clear.
Well, now we live in a reality where GOW can mean two different...
