Mario Kart World Just Got An Update That Lets You Turn Off Pointless Items Like Feathers And Coins

Mario Kart World has made some sweeping changes to the series, some popular, others maybe not so much. The addition of the cape feather fell into the not-so-much category for a lot of people, but now there's an update that lets you remove it from most of Mario Kart World's modes.

Nintendo rolled out the 1.4.0 update for Mario Kart World this morning, and there's a lot to break down. The biggest change to the game is the ability for players to customize the items they can find in item boxes. You'll now find a custom items option under the item rules section, in which you can choose which items might show up in the race.

Yes, that does mean if you're a fan of chaos, you can narrow the potential field down to a single item. All gold mushrooms, all Bullet Bills, or even a race where the only thing you'll find in an item box is a blue shell. There's also an option to turn everything off, or you can hit random and let the Mario Kart gods mix things up for you.
