Fans Believe Resident Evil Requiem New Footage Brought Spencer Mansion Back

Ask any Resident Evil fan to name an iconic setting, and you’re guaranteed to hear "the Spencer Mansion" more than a few times. As the very first scenario of the entire franchise, that unforgettable labyrinth of dread lives rent-free in pretty much everyone’s mind by now.

Now, it seems that Resident Evil Requiem, the next main entry in Capcom’s survival horror saga, might just be bringing us back to that feeling (if not the actual mansion) thanks to a new look at its gameplay.

New Footage Sparks Classic RE Horror Hopes

The new footage was recently revealed on Japanese television as part of a special program, immediately sparking the community’s curiosity by showing some gameplay hidden in the background.

The clip only clocks in at about thirty seconds, but it is enough to showcase the new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, navigating a dark, unsettling mansion in a third-person view camera (and it looks pretty awesome).

Add that to the fact that the gameplay style is very reminiscent of the classic series gameplay (with slow pacing and those shambling zombies that we all love), and it was enough to make every fan remember those good old days at the Spencer...
