It looks like the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake might not be with us in January like has been rumoured, as Ubisoft is still hiring for the project and it's skipping The Game Awards.

Despite having suffered through development hell and only having one teaser trailer in the past year, the last few weeks have been chock-full of rumours about the Sands of Time remake. Those rumours, which come from reliable insider Tom Henderson, even suggested the game might be launching as early as January 2026 and appear at The Game Awards.

Fittingly for a game that's all about how messed up time can get, it seems that those rumours of a surprisingly quick launch might not be accurate anymore, as it looks like the Sands of Time remake still has a bit more work to go, and is even skipping an event we were all sure it would appear at.
