Somehow, The Free Version Of MindsEye Is Even Less Popular Than The Paid One

Build A Rocket Boy is refusing to throw in the towel on MindsEye, releasing a starter pack last month that lets you play some of the game for free. Unfortunately, even when given away for free, MindsEye still isn't moving the needle.

MindsEye's starter pack launched on all platforms where the full game is available last week. It's actually a pretty generous slice of the game you're being given for free, with the expectation that, after playing, people will be convinced that MindsEye is for them and go buy the full experience.

That isn't what's happening. While we only have the Steam numbers to go on based on stats tracked by SteamDB, they don't paint a very promising picture. Six days on from its release, the MindsEye starter pack hasn't had more than 32 people playing it at any one time. It hit that not-so-lofty height on November 30, and as I type this, just four people are playing.
