Fallout's Walton Goggins Will Never Play The Games, He's "Not Interested"

Walton Goggins—who plays the sardonic Ghoul (also known as Cooper Howard) in Amazon's Fallout adaptation—has never expressed an interest in the video game series the show is based on. In a recent interview with PC Gamer, he reiterated his lack of interest, but also provided a professional reason for why he's avoiding the game series.

"No, I haven't sat down to play the games," Goggins said. "And I won't, I won't. I won't play the games, I'm not interested."

Goggins doesn't want any experience playing the games to affect his acting performance; he doesn't want to reconceptualise his understanding of the characters and world of Fallout, in case it inadvertently waters down his performance.

"All of a sudden, I'm looking at this world from a very different perspective, and as something on screen in which I am an avatar in. I don't believe that I'm an avatar. I believe The Ghoul exists in the world, I believe that Cooper Howard exists in the world," he continued.

"The best way I can serve this world and serve fans of the game, I think, is to go to work every single day and believe the circumstances that I'm presented with," Goggins asserted....
