It seems that it is finally the time for us, Metroidvania fans, to finally assemble again, since we are getting closer and closer to another quite ambitious entry in the genre.

I’m talking about MIO: Memories In Orbit, a space-bound adventure from the talented folks at Douze Dixièmes (known for their work on Shady Part of Me, a cozy and narrative-driven journey), which has been labeled as one of the most promising titles on the horizon.

Save the Date for January 2026

During the PC Gaming Show presentation this Thursday, the French studio just dropped a brand-new trailer for MIO: Memories In Orbit, showcasing a bit of challenging platforming, a dark sci-fi setting, and its enigmatic story.

But that’s not all! The trailer also revealed that the wait is officially coming to an end, and the game is set to launch globally on January 20, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and even the shiny new Nintendo Switch 2. That gives us enough time to clear our backlog before jumping into the sci-fi ruins.
