Surprisingly, GTA 6 Was Not The Most Searched Game in 2025

For many, Spotify Wrapped or Apple Music Replay are dominating the fold, as people try and memorialize their 2025 in music. Thankfully, gaming is not too far behind, as PlayStation has its own version called PlayStation Wrap-Up that should be out really any day now, and Xbox also dabbled with Year in Review.

My preference for my PS5 comes down to one simple thing – the controller.

Elsewhere, Google has released its Year in Search, which catalogs all the biggest terms, words, memes, movies and games, among other categories, that people on the Internet looked up at some point in 2025.

For instance, Hot Honey was the No. 1 searched "Food & Drink" recipe, while Anora was the No. 1 movie. When it comes to games, things are just as interesting, because, as it turns out, Grand Theft Auto 6 wasn't the most searched game, even as its multiple delays, AI videos and singular trailer continued to dominate the newscycle.

Instead, it was *drum roll* Arc Raiders, the breakout extraction shooter that somehow kept resetting its Steam concurrent record with each passing day.
