Tim Cain—creator of the original Fallout and veteran game developer—has announced that he's coming out of retirement to re-join Obsidian Entertainment on a full-time basis.
Over the past couple of years, Tim Cain has been regaling the community with excellent insights from his long career as a developer. Cain on Games grew into a popular repository for wisdom on world-building, magic systems, RPGs and general game development practices. Now, Cain has announced his move from Seattle to Irvine, where Obsidian is based.
Cain departed Obsidian in 2020, after directing the original The Outer Worlds. He acted as a part-time creative consultant on the second instalment of the series, and has now returned to the studio he spent nine years at between 2011 and 2020.
