Upcoming Indie Horror Game Takes Place In Japan's Most Haunted Region

Indie developer Endflame, just announced Silent Road, an upcoming first-person horror game taking place in a remote forest region of Japan—infamous for its long history of suicides.

Players will take on the role of a night-shift taxi driver, navigating haunted forest routes and isolated villages to deliver passengers to their destinations.

This will be Endflame's second Japanese horror game after Ikai, which was released in 2022 and has received mostly positive reviews.

Endflame Announces Taxi-Driving Horror Game Silent Road

As you get behind the wheel in Silent Road, you'll pick up strange passengers who turn simple car rides into tense, chilling encounters—slowly exposing the truth behind the mysterious forest.

Players will navigate mountain passes, silent village streets, and abandoned highways, and must exit the Taxi at times to help passengers with simple tasks.

With fog-drenched roads, cyan-green tones, and eerie atmospheres, Endflame has stated that, visually, Silent Road echoes the likes of Silent Hill f and Fatal Flame.
