Assassin's Creed Shadows just launched on Nintendo Switch 2, and while early reports have been reasonably positive on the port's performance, it seems some players are having a far worse time than initial experiences would have suggested. The port holds a pretty decent 81 on Metacritic, but a non-trivial number of folks are hitting crash after crash. Which is, in fact, the last thing you want your shiny new video game to be doing to you.
Reddit's got it bad, as it bursts at the seams a bit with dissatisfied customers who have, in some cases, endured enough shutdowns to set Shadows aside altogether until Ubisoft addresses the issue.
PS6, here we come?
"No crashes for me for the first two hours," one Redditor reports, "and then it crashed on me about five times in the span of ten minutes." Ouch. They claim to only get up to two minutes before yet another crash strikes whenever they boot the Switch 2 port back up, though an odd little technique ultimately did the trick: "I had turned off the UI during that time, and when I turned it back on, the game ran fine."
