In a surprising turn of events, Aspyr Media has delayed the launch of Deus Ex Remastered indefinitely. The upcoming remaster was announced during a State of Play in September. Following the reveal, negative feedback began to flood in.

"Thank you to the community for your feedback following the reveal of Deus Ex Remastered. We've listened to what you said, and in order to better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players, Deus Ex Remastered will no longer launch on February 5, 2025," Aspyr's update post reads. "We look forward to sharing more updates with you when the time comes. All existing pre-orders will be fully refunded. Thank you again for your patience and support."

First of all, I'm one of those sickos who think Deus Ex still holds up visually today. Sure, the heads are a bit polygonal, but the use of lighting and the griminess of the environments are still unmatched. The primary reason we need a Deus Ex remaster is so the game can run on new hardware without the need for additional installations and other technical hoops one must jump through to breathe life into 26-year-old software.
