To absolutely nobody's surprise, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has just won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, beating out Hades 2, Silksong, Death Stranding 2, and more.
2025 might not have had as many undeniable bangers as the last few years, but it's still had plenty of great games to celebrate over the last 12 months. Tonight's Game Awards showcase pretty much marks the end of the gaming year, as well as giving us a chance to see which release comes out on top as the ultimate Game of the Year.
This year's nominees for Game of the Year include Donkey Kong Bananza, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Hades 2, and, of course, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. While all are great games, I don't think anyone is surprised at who ended up taking the final crown.
At the end of a night that was full of announcements, updates, awards and, weirdly, muppets, The Game Awards 2025 wrapped things up by crowning the winner of the coveted Game of the Year award.
