Larian finally revealed Divinity at The Game Awards earlier today. In Geoff Keighley's own words, it will be even "larger than Baldur's Gate 3". The studio is clearly excited about the upcoming game, as indicated by that statue in the desert everyone was speculating over. While we have no other information about the game, we might have a clue on the starting area.
Larian loves starting games on beaches. In Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity: Original Sin, and its sequel, the game starts off with the protagonist waking up on a beach after a brief prologue on a vessel of some kind. Fans of the studio fully expect Larian to do the same with Divinity, but a now deleted tweet by studio head Swen Vincke may have just confirmed it.
As spotted by magur76 on Reddit, Vincke tweeted an image of a beach yesterday, with the caption, "Remains one of my favorite running spots. Loads of memories here." Of course, the studio head might just love running at that particular beach and has fond memories of it, but fans think it may have been a cheeky reference to Larian's tradition of starting its games on a beach.
