A reliable Mega Man insider has claimed that Dual Override was originally just going to be called Mega Man 12, and that it isn't the only "keystone project" in the works for the series.
Yesterday's Game Awards showcase was full of surprise reveals (aside from all the bits that leaked), but unarguably the biggest of them all was the long-awaited return of Mega Man. Fans have been begging Capcom to do anything with its iconic character for nearly a decade now, and that wish was finally granted with Dual Override.
We only got to see a very small glimpse of Dual Override in action, but the brief footage was enough to ease fans into knowing that Mega Man is finally coming back soon. As it turns out, though, some people have known about Dual Override's existence for a lot longer than the rest of us.
