Oh, It Sounds Like The New Old Republic Game Won't Have Much To Do With KOTOR After All

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel are some of the most beloved RPGs of all time. Despite this, we never got a proper conclusion to the story they were telling, outside of some novels and the MMO.

Now, after years of waiting, we're getting another game set in the Old Republic era - Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. Better yet, it's being led by the director of the first KOTOR game. Understandably, many of us suspected that this would round off the story set up in the first two games, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Despite being set during the Old Republic era, a blog post shared shortly after the game's reveal says that it is "not a direct sequel or continuation" to KOTOR. We're also told that it will "introduce new characters for an all-new story."

Whether that means that's new characters alongside the old remains to be seen. The main character that most will want to see is Revan, the protagonist from the first game, as well as Bastila Shan. However, those of us who lean towards KOTOR 2 will want to see the Jedi Exile. Personally, I...
