Xbox has announced a brand new Developer Direct show for January, and a studio that's working on one of the publisher's most hotly-anticipated games will be featured during the presentation.
In an interview with Variety, content and studios president Matt Booty says that the show will star none other than Playground Games, the developer currently working on the long-awaited Fable reboot. In case you need a reminder, said reboot was delayed from 2025 to 2026 earlier this year.
Booty goes on to say that while Developer Direct shows are usually about "highlighting what's coming up for the year ahead", 2026 is a packed year for Xbox, so the publisher has "more stuff coming up than [it] can fit in one show".
During the Game Awards ceremony last night, a brief spot for the recently-controversial Xbox Game Pass showed that third-person shooter prequel Gears of War: E-Day will be launching sometime in 2026, so we could well get a look at that during the Xbox Developer Direct in January as well.
That's in addition to Halo: Campaign Evolved, a reworked version of the original Halo's campaign, which is heading not only to PC and Xbox Series...
