Sonic May Have Been A No-Show At The Game Awards, But A Developer Says The Series Is "Gearing Up For More"

Although Sonic was a noticeable no-show at The Game Awards this year, the series' social media manager has teased that Sonic Team is "gearing up for more".

Going into The Game Awards, it was easy to assume that Sonic would be making an appearance somewhere during the show. Sega teased some big news for the event (which ended up being a Warhammer game), and Sonic has appeared many times at Geoff Keighley's events before, so it was an easy leap to make.

Weirdly, though, that didn't end up being the case, as Sonic was completely absent from The Game Awards. While we didn't get to see the long-awaited next game after Frontiers like many of us hoped, it seems that we're not too far away from some kind of update on what Sonic's up to next.

Over on Twitter, Sonic's social media manager, KatieChrz, shared a message congratulating all of the winners of the show, before addressing the lack of a hedgehog in the room. KatieChrz says that Sonic Team has had "several amazing years" and is "gearing up for more", settling any doubts that Sonic's next adventure is still being worked on.
