Earlier this week, at The Game Awards, Capcom finally admitted that Leon Kennedy would be returning as a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem, splitting the runtime evenly with newcomer Grace Ashcroft. But he might not be the only Resident Evil 2 alumni to be making a return.
u/Red-Raptor3 noticed a familiar voice during the trailer - none other than Sherry Birkin, daughter to that gangled mess of limbs and eyeballs we fought beneath the RPD police station way back when.
They placed this segment of the trailer alongside clips of Sherry Birkin from Resident Evil 6, where she returned as a playable character in her own campaign alongside Jake Wesker, to hammer home the comparison. And while they didn't spell it out in their post, commenters declared with confidence that this is "100% Sherry", talking to Leon over comms.
Listening through the video, it's compelling, but Capcom is known to reuse actors throughout Resident Evil for different roles. For example, Neil Newbon played Nikolai and Heisenberg, two very different characters, and Jeff Schine played both Carlos Oliveira and Chris Redfield. So, maybe Eden Riegel is returning to Resident Evil, but it might not be as Sherry Birkin....
