Star Wars: Galactic Racer Revealed at the Game Awards 2025

The Game Awards 2025 certainly had its share of surprises and perhaps you could expect the announcement of one unknown Star Wars game, but to get two of them in the same show? It sounds virtually unbelievable. Even then, a role-playing game in the Old Republic universe helmed by the legendary Casey Hudson, there’s a realm where with the status of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake being what it is, and reports of a KOTOR 2 remake having been, or may still be in development that Disney may want to hedge their bets on another one. But I don’t think anyone saw the announcement of Star Wars: Galactic Racer coming at all.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is essentially a spiritual successor to the 1999 Nintendo 64 classic Star Wars Episode I: Racer, and is being developed by Fuse Games, which is a team made up of former Criterion devs known for the Burnout and Need For Speed series. The game also comes to light at a unique time where there isn’t such fierce competition in the futuristic racing scene. So perhaps there could be a lane for the galaxy far far away’s take on racing...
